Recommended Bait: Worms/Power Bait

Hook Size: Size 8 recommended
Best Rig: 2 to 4 feet of line

Fishing at the lake this week was a mixed bag. Early in the week fishing was excellent but with the windy and cloudy conditions on Friday things slowed down. Trout were still being caught in the 12" to 16" range but not with the regularity of previous weeks. Worms were working best in the early morning with power bait getting the best results later in the afternoon.

The lake is being stocked this coming Monday(April 17) with a variety of sizes of rainbow trout. There will be approximately 1400 9" to 13" trout and 150 2 to 4 pound trout stocked at this time. It usually takes about 24 to 36 hours for freshly stocked trout to begin feeding again but if we have warmer temperatures they should start feeding on Tuesday morning The water temperature at this time is 43 degrees near the surface to 38 degrees 20 feet down.

Best time of the year for fishing is rapidly approaching as water conditions will be favorable for trout .
