Recommended Bait: Yellow Power Nuggets Fished on the Bottom

Fishing is great. With the cool nights and days staying around 55 to 60 degrees the trout are being caught at an awesome pace. So good in fact that we stocked the lake again today October 31st. We put in 1500 pounds of rainbow trout which is around 2300 fish. The sizing of the fish put in range from 9 to 16 inches with a few 3 pound rainbows for good measure.

We have been using yellow power nuggets fished on the bottom with fantastic results. Everyone is catching their limits in an hours time. Fish are being caught at all times of the day. We have had guests who have been coming to Lake of the Woods for years and they say this is the best fishing they have ever had.

Please remember to release all fish under 10 inches in length and to keep your limit of 5 fish per angler.

Help us improve our water system and ensure many good days of fishing by putting your trash in the receptacles placed around the lake. A very important item to keep out of the lake is any unused fishing line that has been discarded. This is extremely life threatening to our wonderful waterfowl that many people enjoy around our beautiful property.
